Kenya's Morans pulled off a shocking 74-73 win over 11-time African champions Angola to qualify for the 2021 Afrobasket Championship Finals set for Kigali, Rwanda.

The historic win in Yaounde guaranteed that Kenya's Morans will finish above third place in Group B of the qualifiers, enough to secure a ticket to Africa’s biggest basketball festival for the first time in 28 years.
Kenya had recorded a defeat of 69-51 1 five-time champions Senegal on Friday prior to the Saturday win.
The top three teams from the qualification journey after the second leg the only ones that qualify for the Afrobasket Championship.
The Morans recorded a 9-22 loss in the first quarter before winning 19-17 in the second quarter going to halftime trailing 28-39 at the City Arena.
The team was more energized after the break as they won the third quarter 25-17 before dominating in the final bend to win 21-17.
Moran's Ongwae netted in 16 baskets while Angola’s Alexandre Jungo had 19. Bush Wamukota had 8 rebounds while Angola’s Jungo had 6.
Angola defeated Kenya 83-66 in the first round that was held in Kigali, Rwanda in November 2020.
Under their new head coach Lizz Mills from Australia, Morans are set to face Mozambique on Sunday in their final match as they start preparations for the continental stage assignment.
