City lawyer Kayai missing, family in agony

A city-based lawyer, Benson Njau Kayai, has gone missing and it is believed he was abducted by unknown people last week on Sunday evening along Muhoho avenue in South C.

Investigations are ongoing and there are no leads yet. The 54-year-old's family in Nairobi’s Kahawa West area is worried.

According to eye witnesses, Benson was allegedly abducted

Lang’ata OCPD Benjamin Mwathi said that on the day of the alleged abduction, a case was reported of a car that was left in the middle of the road along Muhoho Avenue. The car had food essentials, like bread and milk.

The police linked that report with the family's report on Tuesday that Benson was missing.

Reportedly, the car that Benson Kayai was driving when the incident occurred was not his.

Nick kayai, Benson's brother said, “His car is a Mercedes but he was not using it that day, he had a fielder which was KCC something…. But when I interview the guy, the owner of the fielder, he says that he has been giving him most of the weekends he uses it most of the time…”

Ian, Benson's 23-year -old son said he was on phone with his father at around 5pm. His father was concerned whether their family ran shop was okay.

The son promised to respond after doing a physical checkup. However, in less than an hour, phone calls to his father went unanswered.

The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) website shows that Benson Njau worked on commercial law, corporate, criminal law and family law as well as succession matters and property, conveyancing, landlord and tenant law.

Whether or not his involvement with a case could have been the cause of his alleged abduction remains unclear.

According to investigators, there was nothing unusual about Benson's house in South C where he lived alone as it is still intact.
