Kenya's COVID-19 cases hit 102,792 as 179 more test positive

Kenya has recorded 179 new positive cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours from a sample size of 4,423, bringing the total positive cases to 102,792. 

On Saturday, February 13, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe stated that the total tests conducted so far are 1,238,343.

From the new cases, 151 are Kenyans while 28 are foreigners. 92 are males while 87 are females.

The oldest case is aged 93 years while the youngest is a two-month-old infant. 

The total fatalities in the country stands at 1,795 as one patient succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours. 

79 patients have been discharged after recovering from the virus. 17 are from various health facilities across the country, while 62 are from the Home-Based Isolation and Care program.

Currently, the total recoveries are 84,952.

 345 patients are currently admitted in various health facilities countrywide, while 1,271 are on Home Based Isolation and Care.

From the 32 patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 15 are on ventilatory support and 16 are on supplemental oxygen.

Another 8 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen with all of them in the general wards.
