A Nigerian national has been arrested by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) following the death of a prominent city lawyer whose body was found in her bedroom.
Confirming the arrest , the DCI stated that the Nigerian national identified as Christian Kadima was traced to a lodging within Nairobi after hours of engaging detectives in a hide and seek.
" Detectives have finally arrested Christian Mwambay Kadima, who has been on the run since the wee hours of the morning, following the gruesome murder of a prominent city lawyer." Tweeted the DCI.
According to DCI, Kadima drove his getaway car to Riruta attempting to create a false impression on his whereabouts and hoping to outsmart the officers. However, his efforts were futile.
The suspect was the last person spotted leaving Elizabeth Koki's house in Syokimau, Machakos County, on the night detectives believe she was murdered.
The deceased's body was found with bruises on her bed.
"The house help grew suspicious when by 10am, her employer hadn’t woken up. She then walked into her bedroom only to find her lying lifeless on the bed, with bloody bruises on her body," reads the statement.
Investigation to uncover the occurrences of that fateful night are ongoing.
"He is currently in lawful custody, being processed for his despicable act."the DCI added.
