A grisly accident involving a bus and motorcycle occurred on on the Thika Superhighway near Garden City on Wednesday, January 13 thereby causing a major traffic snarl up on the busy road.
The bus overturned and blocking two lanes of the road and the heavy traffic stretched to about 1 kilometer.
According to witnesses, there were two occupants on the motorcycle at the time of the crash.
Unconfirmed reports indicate that one person succumbed to the injuries.
Drivers were advised to approach the area with caution as police moved to the scene to direct traffic.
As of December 13, 2020, the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) statistics indicated that fatalities in road accidents had increased as compared to same period in 2019.
Both the police and NTSA have similar reports regarding the notable increase in road accidents.
