Former Moi University student leader appeals for help

A former student leader at Moi University who lost three family members in less than six months is pleading for financial assistance to cover the medical bills that accrued when her late sister was hospitalised due to Kidney failure.

Pacificah Mariita posted a video requesting help from willing Kenyans to clear the hospital bill amounting to of Ksh1 million.

Pacificah's sister passed away on Christmas Day in a hospital in Eldoret.

She stated, "I'm here to appeal for help because we lost sister Phylis who had kidney failure since January 2019. She rested on 25th December 2020, leaving a huge bill of Ksh1 million which we have to clear before she can be buried.”

Her mother Alice Mariita died on November 25, 2020 while another of her siblings died in June the same year.

Pacificah added, "2020 has been the hardest year, the most painful for us because in 17th June 2020 we lost sister Risper Kwamboka. It was a maternal kid, both her and the kid did not survive. The same year we lost our mum who has been suffering from hypertension and diabetes for 18 years."

The former student leader revealed that the family was forced to sell off property to cater for the bills and debts accrued from the medical conditions of the family.
