Kenya Sevens rugby star Oscar Dennis is currently recuperating after sustaining serious injuries from a hit and run accident.
The accident which was confirmed by the Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) occurred on Tuesday, November 10
at the junction of Bogani and Quarry Lane in Karen while Oscar was riding his bicycle.
However, the motorist who hit him drove off.
KRU released the statement on Wednesday, November 11 wishing him a quick recovery.
The statement read, "We would like to confirm that Kenya Sevens player Oscar Dennis sustained leg injuries after being hit by an unidentified motorist while riding his bike in Nairobi on Tuesday evening.He is undergoing treatment and we wish him a speedy and full recovery."
Reports indicate that one of the security firms along the road rescued Dennis but the driver who hit him could not be traced.
A search for the motorist who took off is underway as appeals have been made to the public to provide information on any eyewitness who might have been at the scene or seen details of the motorist's car.
According to unconfirmed reports, the rugby star is scheduled for specialised treatment in South Africa because of his severely injured leg.
