Jordan Henderson and Raheem Sterling are set to miss England's Nations match against Iceland at Wembley on Wednesday.
Liverpool captain Henderson was replaced at half-time in England's 2-0 defeat by Belgium on Sunday.
Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling missed the match due to a calf issue.
However, the two players will return to their respective clubs for further assessment before the Premier League resumes this weekend.
City faces Tottenham away while Liverpool host Leicester City on Sunday.
The Three Lions failed to qualify for the next October's Nations League finals following their loss to Belgium.
