Chelsea coach Frank Lampard confirmed that Kai Havertz has tested positive for COVID-19 and is self-isolating.
The 21-year-old is set for a spell on the sidelines after contracting coronavirus.
The Germany international is set to miss Chelsea's match against Sheffield United and Germany's trio of matches.
Although he has managed four goals and three assists across his first 10 appearances for the Blues,
Havertz has been criticized for a perception of lack of influence since he signed for Chelsea in the summer.
The news came ahead of Chelsea's champions league match against Rennes which Chelsea won 3-0.
