On Monday November 2, 2020, Baby Shark passed the 7 billion view mark surpassing the popular Latino song Despacito that has been the record holder for quite some time.
The Baby Shark song video runs for 76 seconds on YouTube where it was uploaded on June 17, 2016.
On 2019, the catchy children rhyme was ranked number 32 on the Billboard Hot 100. This milestone can be attributed to its success on YouTube.
The popularity of the song earned it recognition
in the Washington Nationals baseball team that made it their anthem. White House played it as part of the celebrations after the team won the World Series in 2019.
Since the Baby Shark song's main target audience is children, a coronavirus themed version of it was released this year to encourage children to wash their hands during the pandemic.
