Western youthful politicians demote Malala from leadership

Saboti MP Caleb Amisi is the new leader of Magharibi Youth Movement following the demotion of Cleopas Malala.

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM)Party has reportedly initiated process to also  eject Senator Malala from the Senate deputy  minority position.

In September, the party's Secretary General, Edwin Sifuna, argued that Malala did make great use of the leadership opportunity ODM had given him. Furthermore, he was no longer serving the interests of the minority.

Amisi's main role is to develop strategies for enhancing socio-economic growth in the regions.

The MP said that the delegates fully support
the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).

Mr. Amisi pointed out, "We have taken western region. We are ready to deliver our people them from bondage. If anyone wants to talk to youths of western, it will be through Edwin Sifuna (ODM Secretary General), Godfrey Osotsi (Nominated MP), Mercy Cheben (Nominated Senator) and Amisi who is the leader. If you cross that line and burn, blame it on yourself."

The team met on Saturday, October 17, and agreed to work together towards the promotion of peaceful coexistence, unity of purpose, and community empowerment.

The youth movement statement read in part, "The movement supports the handshake between the president (Uhuru Kenyatta) and the Hon Raila Amolo Odinga (former Prime Minister) for its promotion of lasting peace."

The team comprises of delegates from Western Kenya counties of Bungoma, Trans Nzoia, Vihiga, Busia, and Kakamega.

It pledges to promote job creation, the expansion of opportunities, and well-balanced resource allocation in the counties.

Amisi stated, "We want to change the narrative so that this region will no longer be a center of political brokerage during elections. We must be part and parcel of the government of the day."
