President Uhuru Kenyatta made a hilarious statement about getting a second 'wife' from Kisumu, managing to break the ice with Kisumu residents through laughter.
He was addressing thousands of Kenyans on Thursday at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Sports Complex, formerly Jomo Kenyatta Sports Ground.
"Nilikuwa naambia Raila hapa jameni... Sijui kama mama nyumbani ataniruhusu... Akiniruhusu labda naweza kupata mtu ambaye atakuwa ananitengenezea mambo yangu pande hii..."
"Ndio tuwe tukitembea ukijua kuna mahali utakuwa unakula ugali ama namna gani?" He added.
( "I was telling Raila I don't know whether my wife will allow me to get another woman to look after my interests on this side. So that we walk knowing there's a place we can be going to eat ugali?")
His presence in Kisumu with the ODM leader was to reinforce BBI that's was established by the handshake between the two principles.
According to Uhuru, since the handshake there have been significant developments and the country has experienced great peace.
He praised Raila for being a true and selfless statesman who prioritizes the good of the country and for his loyalty to the BBI course.
He had great promises for the Kisumu residents.
The Head of State instructed Interior CS Fred Matiang'i to oversee completion of the 63km Kisumu-Mamboleo-Chemelil-Muhoroni road in four months.
"We are constructing an international stadium here in Mamboleo and this type of road should not be leading to such a stadium. I will be coming here in April next year and this should be completed by then," he said
