Burudi's ex-president, Pierre Buyoya has been life sentenced in prison in absentia over the accussations of the murder of former President Melchior Ndadaye his successor in 1993.
Mr Buyoya was on Monday convicted "an attack against the head of a state" over his role in the killing of the first democratically elected president, Melchoir Ndadaye, during a coup d' etat which plunged the country into a civil war.
Mr Buyoya was sentenced to life with his close allies, the 18 high ranking millitary officials and civilians.
Other three people were sentenced to 20years in jail for "complicity" in the crimes and a former Prime Minister Antoine Nduwayo was acquitted.
