Raila, Karua condole with families of Nithi bridge crash victims

Azimio La Umoja Coalition Party presidential candidate Raila Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua have condoled with the families who lost their loved ones in the Nithi Bridge crash.

In a statement, Raila and Karua sent their condolences to those who lost their loved ones in the tragic incident.

They also wished those fighting for their lives in hospital a speedy recovery, even as they hailed the medical personnel treating them. 

"This is a difficult moment for these families and our campaign prays for them to get comfort and fortitude," reads part of the statement.

Raila and Karua further appealed to motorists to exercise caution and observe the highway code while on the road.

This comes as the death toll from the bus accident at Nithi River in Tharaka Nithi County hit 34 on Monday morning.
