Wiper writes to IEBC over Kalonzo's withdrawal from Presidential race

Wiper Democratic Movement has formally written to the Independent Electoral and boundaries commission informing them of Kalonzo Musyoka's withdrawal from the presidential contest.

In a letter to the electoral body chairperson and national returning officer Wafula Chebukati, Wiper said Musyoka will not be presenting his nomination papers for clearance on Saturday as earlier planned.

"By strength of this letter, we notify your office that he will not be presenting his papers as earlier scheduled," read the letter in part signed by the party's national.election board chair Agatha Solitei.

 "kindly acknowledge receipt of this notification by stamping the duplicate of this letter".it added 

Mr Musyoka was set to appear before the commission on June 4, a day Deputy President and Kenya Kwanza flagbearer  William Ruto is also presenting his documents for clearance.

On Thursday, Kalonzo dropped his bid in favour of Azimio-OKA candidate Raila Odinga.

Azimio la Umoja candidate Raila Odinga will appear before the commission on Sunday.

So far, only two candidates have been cleared for the presidential contest, the two include renowned comedian Walter Mong'are alias Nyambane of the Umoja Summit Party and Prof George Wajackoyah of the Roots Party of Kenya.
