Speaking to a local radio station, Bahati said his competitors gave been persuading him to step down.
“I was told I will be given a job. But I am not looking for a job, I am earning a living from my music," he said.
"People have come with offers they want to pay me to step down. They have offered me millions, up to Ksh.50 million. They know that when they get to office they will regain the money,” Bahati said.

He claimed that the incumbent Anthony Oluoch, is one of those who approached him, asking for his support.
“He told me to do a campaign song for him and support him. They want to use a person from Mathare to get to the people,” he added.
Bahati's revelations comes just a day after a joint meeting of ODM and Jubilee delegates said they will persuade Bahati, to step down and be considered for an appointment in the Azimio government.
“We only have one candidate in Mathare and that is Anthony Oluoch, this young man called Bahati is my younger brother and we will talk. I will make sure that we find him another position within the Azimio government, ”ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna said.
