Mbeere South Member of Parliamenf Geoffrey King'ang'i has quit Parliamentary race after losing in the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party primaries.
Speaking at parliament building where he had gone to pay his last respects to the late former President Mwai Kibaki whom he served as his Aide-de-Camp Mr King'ang'i said he was unhappy with the way UDA primaries were conducted but ruled out defending his seat as an independent candidate.
"The UDA primaries were not free and fair at all but I will not seek re-election," he said in an interview with the press.
However, he noted thag he would continue campaigning for Kenya Kwanza presidential candidate William Ruto.
"I love my party and I will continue popularising it and drumming support for Dr Ruto," he said.
Mr King'ang'i who maintained he was rigged out in favour of his rival called on his supporters to be patient and vote for Dr Ruto so that he can win the presidential polls in August 9..
"Dr Ruto is capable of reviving the economy and he deserves to be elected," he stated.

"I'm grateful to the residents who voted for me in 2017. I represented them well in the National Assembly and initiated a lot of development projects and I'm satisfied with my development record," said Mr King'ang'i.
