In a hand over dinner held on Friday in Nairobi, Engineer Ohaga was inaugurated into the role by his predecessor Eng. Nathaniel Matalanga.
The engineering body which was founded in 1972 held its council elections on March 21, 2022.
Speaking after his inauguration, Ohanga vowed to ensure challenges facing the accreditation of engineering programs are tackled.
"The body co-operates with national and international institutions in developing and applying engineering "to the benefit of humanity."
“This will ensure that Engineers Board of Kenya is able to assure the rest of the world that programs being carried out under their watch are up to international standards and fast track Kenya’s journey towards joining the International Engineering Alliance,” Ohaga stated.
Ohaga is also the director of Nuclear Energy and Infrastructure Development at Nuclear Power and Energy Agency (NuPEA).
He currently also serves in the World Federation of Engineering Organization (WFEO) Committee on Engineering Innovative Technologies and is a national interviewing panel member of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
He will serve in the IEK Council for a term of two years.
