Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition has unveiled business executive Polycarp Igathe as its candidate for Nairobi gubernatorial contestant.
Speaking at KICC after chairing a meeting that was convened by the council members that brought together all aspirants contesting in Nairobi, the coalition's party leader Raila Odinga said Igathe will be deputized by former Kibwezi MP Philip Kaloki.
Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi who had also expressed interest in the top county seat stepped down in favour of Igathe and will now defend his parliamentary seat.
At the same time, ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna was unveiled as the coalition's candidate for the senatorial seat.
Esther Passaris has been promoted by the coalition to defend her seat as the County MP.
