Deputy President William Ruto's United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has announced that it will conduct primaries from April 9 to 16 assuring aspirants of a free and fair exercise.
While addressing the press on Wednesday, the party's National Elections Board (NEB)said they have no preferred candidates and the party will not issue a direct ticket to any aspirant.
"The Deputy President William Ruto has undertaken that the nominations will be free and fair. All aspirants will face Wanjiku's verdict on nominations day," Board's chairman Anthony Mwaura said.
According to the election board boss, the party has kicked off on a verification process for aspirants who have paid nomination fees.
Aspirants seeking to contest for UDA tickets have up to the February 28th to pay the requisite nomination fee.
Aspirants interested in UDA Party Presidential ticket for the 2022 elections will have to part with Sh1 million (males) while the females and the youth will pay Sh500,000.
For the governor seats, male aspirants will pay Sh500,000 ,while women and the youth will pay Sh250,000.
Aspirants interested in the Woman Representative seat will pay Sh250,000 nomination fee, and the youths will pay Sh125,000.
For MP seats, male applicants will pay Sh250,000, while women and youth will pay Sh125,000 with the same rates applying to applicants seeking the Senatorial seats.
For MCA seats, male applicants will pay a nomination fee of Sh50,000 while females will pay Sh25,000, the same amount is to be paid by the youth.
