Kisii gubernatorial aspirant Omingo Magara quits UDA

Kisii gubernatorial aspirant Omingo Magara has ditched the United Democratic Alliance ( UDA) citing lack of democracy.

Magara who also served at the party's  treasurer made the announcement on Monday at St Vincent Pastoral Centre in Kisii County, after meeting with his supporters.

"For a very long time I have harboured and ambitioned to be the Kisii County governor through the UDA party where I was also the national treasurer. There has since been developments that render my candidature through the UDA party impossible," he said.

"After considerable reflection and consultations with my people in Kisii County, national leaders, family and friends, my political ambitions and future cannot be sufficiently addressed by the UDA party. I therefore immediately resign as a party member and as a treasurer.”

The former South Mugirango MP further cited that he is willing to partner with like-minded parties that he says will support his vision.

"I'll continue talking to other political players with a view to finding political suitors that align with my vision for Kenyans and that will respect the ethos of inclusivity by crafting a future that weaves a fabric that appreciates every Kenya's dream and aspirations," he stated.

He becomes the latest politician from Kisii County to ditch the DP William Ruto led  party, last week Anthony Kibagendi a parliamentary aspirant and former Youth Affairs Secretary at the Deputy President's office ditched the party for ODM.
