Former England and Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson has been named the new manager of struggling Premier League side Watford, the club confirmed on Wednesday.
Hodgson returns to the top flight league after leaving Crystal Palace at the end of last season.
His appointment comes just a day after the Hornets sacked Claudio Ranieri.
The 74-year-old tactician will be tasked with securing Premier League survival as they sit 19th, two points from relegation.
Ray Lewington, who managed the club between 2002 and 2005, will join as assistant coach , taking the same position he did under Hodgson for England and Palace.o
Hodgson's first game will be away to Burnley, who are bottom of the table.
