Former Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto has ruled out of any possibilities of merging his Chama cha Mashinani (CCM) with Deputy President’s United Democratic Party, UDA, ahead of the 2022, General Elections.
The vocal leader however said, his Party will back DP Ruto in his quest for the Presidency.
He also hinted that CCM will form a post-election pact with any party that will form the next Government.
"We want to make it clear we are not about to fold CCM, we will maintain the CCM party," Rutto told the press.
"DP Ruto's ideologies are similar to those of CCM, that's why we are backing his candidature. This means DP Ruto is our party's presidential candidate. This isn't contradictory because he wants our votes," he added.
Rutto will face out with incumbent Dr. Hillary Barchok and Petroleum and Mining Chief Administrative Secretary Eng. John Mosonik in his quest to recapture the Bomet gubernatorial seat.
