The High Court in Nairobi has handed firebrand lawyer Miguna Miguna bid to travel back to the country a lifeline after it ordered him to obtain emergency travel documents from the Kenyan embassy in Canada, Germany, or wherever he is within 72 hours.
While making her ruling, Justice Hedwing Ong'undi ordered the state to allow Miguna's return to Kenya.
Once in possession of the travel documents, the Canada-based lawyer should be allowed to board the next immediate flight to Nairobi, the court said.
Upon his landing, the court said the immigration officers should allow him to enter the country using his National ID and should apply for the passport and be issued with the same within seven days.
Miguna had suffered another blow in his bid to return to the country after being locked out following the controversial swearing-in of Raila Odinga on January 30,2018.
His latest attempt to board a flight in Berlin was impeded after Air France refused to carry him citing red alerts issued by the government.
