Isaac Kibwage appointed Egerton University Vice-Chancellor

Egerton University Council has appointed Prof Isaac ongubo Kibwage as the new Vice-Chancellor.


In a statement sent to newsrooms the council's chairperson, Dr. William Ronoh said the appointment was arrived at following interviews conducted by the Public Service Commission and consultations between the council and the Ministry of Education Cabinet Secretary Prof George Magoha.


"Following the interview process carried out by the Public Service Commission (PSC), and after consultations with the Cabinet Secretary for Education, in exercise of the provisions of Section 35(1)(a)v) of the Universities Act, 2012, we, the Egerton University Council, have or this 5th day of October 2021 appointed Prof, Isaac Ongubo Kibwage, HSC as the new Vice-Chancellor of Egerton University.” the University council said in a statement. 


Prof Kibwage replaces Rose Mwonya who retired in June 2020.

Until his appointment , Prof Kibwage has been serving as Egerton Vice-Chancellor in an acting capacity.
