Tiaty Member of Parliament William Kamket has been released on bail by a Nakuru Law Court.
Nakuru Senior Principal Magistrate Lilian Arika granted the legislator a Sh 500,000 cash bail and barred him from visiting his Kositei home in Tiaty until the police have completed their investigations.
Police were seeking to detain the MP for 14 days to complete their investigations over his alleged involvement in the ongoing skirmishes in Laikipia County.
The court has also barred Mr. Kamket from making public comments or utterances regarding the case.
Kamket was arrested on Wednesday at his Baringo home before being driven to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations offices in Nakuru.
Police claim the MP incited illegal herders to invade the Laikipia Natural Conservancy.
Also arrested in connection with the attack was former Laikipia North MP Mathew Lempurkel.
The mater will be mentioned on September 14th.
