Tiaty Member of Parliament William Kamket has been arrested over the ongoing attacks in Laikipia County.
Several people have died and hundreds of families have been displaced due to the skirmishes.
Sleuths from from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) arrested Kamket on Wednesday at his Kositei home in Tiaty, Baringo County.
He will be interrogated in Nakuru as he awaits arraignment.
Former Laikipia North Member of Parliament (MP) Mathew Lempurkel is also in police custody over the attacks at the Laikipia Nature Conservancy.
Detectives arrested him on Wednesday morning at his home in Rongai, Kajiado County
He will be arraigned at the Milimani Law Courts as he was grilled at the DCI headquarters on Kiambu Road.
Rift Valley Regional Commissioner George Natembeya stated that the two leaders are believed to be among those inciting the attacks
