Celebrated rapper Khaligraph Jones has expressed his sadness as he mourns veteran politician and fashion icon Mary Orie Rogo Manduli who passed away on Wednesday.
As he eulogized Manduli as one of his biggest fans, Khaligraph revealed that they had planned to link up for a chat once she is discharged from Hospital but unfortunately God's plans were different.
He also said that the charismatic politician and fashion icon loved his song #Hao where he describes her as a very confident woman.
Khaligraph mourned, “About 2 months ago. I Received a Call from The Late Orie Rogo Manduli and she Told me how she Loved The Song *Hao* and we even planned to link up for a chat after She was Discharged from Hospital but it seems God had other plans, unfortunately she passed on Today before our plan Came to be, May she Rest in peace. 🙏🙏 See you on the other side”
Orie Rogo Manduli passed away at her Riverside home, Nairobi on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at the age of 73.
Kenyans took to social media to mourn the former MP who had been suffering from an undisclosed illness for a while.
President Uhuru Kenyatta eulogized Manduli as a woman of many firsts and trailblazer who fought tirelessly for women empowerment.
He mourned, “It is sad and unfortunate that death has taken away Mama Orie Rogo Manduli, one of our country's most recognizable, highly charismatic and accomplished politicians. A bold leader and mentor, Ms Manduli tirelessly championed for women empowerment."
The Head of State remembered her as fearless, bold and practical leader who always spoke her mind.
Deputy President William Ruto also mourned Manduli as an incredible leader who inspired people of all generations.
Ruto shared, “Our country has lost a courageous and incredible leader who inspired people of all generations. Orie Rogo Manduli was vocal, aggressive and formidable warrior for women’s rights. We will best remember her as a groundbreaker and pioneer Kenyan female rally driver. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and their loved ones during this painful time. Rest In Peace."
