Five killed in shooting at Russian university

At least five people were killed in a shooting that occurred on Monday at a university in the Russian city of Perm.

Confirming the incident, the state investigative committee added that six more people were wounded. 

The Perm State University warned students to be careful as it stated, throueits Telegram channel, that the assailant entered the university campus on Monday morning with an offensive weapon and opened fire. 

The press service of the Perm State University said, “Some students and teachers have locked (themselves) into the classrooms.” 

According to the state investigative committee, The suspect in the shooting is a male student and was identified, although it was unclear if he is a student at the university.

The committee said that the suspect was wounded as he resisted law enforcement officers during his arrest. 

It has also taken charge and opened a criminal murder investigation.
