Kenya has recorded 69 new Covid-19 cases from a sample size of 1,414 tested in the last 24 hours, pushing the cumulative confirmed cases to 248,461 while the positivity rate stands at 4.9%.
All the new cases were Kenyans and 35 are females while 34 are males.
The oldest case is 89 years while the youngest is
a 14-year-old youth.
In a statement on Sunday, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said the total recoveries stand at 240,235 as 505 new recoveries have been recorded.
From the new recoveries, 466 are from the Home-Based Isolation and Care program while 39 are from various health facilities countrywide.
Sadly, six more patients have succumbed to the disease, pushing the cumulative fatalities to 5,102.
Currently, 1,209 patients are admitted to various health facilities countrywide, while 2,633 are under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program.
Of the 87 patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU),
49 are on ventilatory support and 38 on supplemental oxygen. No patient is under observation.
Another 387 patients are separately on supplemental oxygen with 368 of them in general wards and 19 in High Dependency Units (HDU).
According to Kagwe, so far, a total of 3,613,357 vaccines had been administered across the country. Of these, total first doses were 2,724,742 while second doses were 888,615.
