A Zimbabwean Magistrate court has upheld a traditional chief's ruling that Former President Robert Mugabe's remains be exhumed for reburial at the National Shrine.
Mugabe's family had moved to a local court to challenge Chief Zvimba's ruling arguing that he ruled outside his jurisdiction when he found Former First Lady Grace Mugabe guilty of violating traditions by burying the African leader at his homestead.
Mugabe died in Singapore in 2019 aged 95.
His family claimed his final wish was for his successor Emmerson Mnangagwa doesn't preside over his funeral.
The Former First Lady was ordered to facilitate the exhumation of Mugabe's remains for reburial at the National Heroes Acre in Harare . She was fined five cows and two goats.
Following the death of the long-serving ruler in 2019 standoff ensued between the government and his family over his final resting place.
