Deputy President William Ruto has ruled out on possibilities of working with former Prime Minister Raila Odinga in his bid to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta .
Ruto who was speaking in an interview with Inooro FM on Wednesday said it was impossible for him to work with ODM leader Odinga again since they both share different ideologies especially on the economic models that should be used in the country.
According to him, the ODM leader's model follows a trickle-down approach while his follows a bottom-up approach.
The DP stated, "How can we work together? While he is saying change the constitution to have tribal kings in government, I am saying that we should help the hustlers."
"He is talking of trickle-down, I am talking of bottom-up. We cannot work together clearly, we are competitors," he added.
Ruto said that he will banking on the hustlers to vote for him as he is not looking to form a coalition with any other party.
On his recent blocked visit to Uganda and the purge on his allies in parliament, the DP accused President Uhuru Kenyatta and his allies of being out to frustrate him.
He stated, “For four years, people have been saying things to me. Oh, I don’t know Ruto is competing with the President, I don’t know he has disrespected the President… All these things I have denied. Even that Wilson issue is to put me in a position to argue with them. I have left them to God.”
