President Uhuru Kenyatta has forwarded the names of four nominees to the National Assembly for vetting as commissioners of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.
The Head of State forwarded the names of Julian Wihonge Chirera, Irene Cherop Masit, Francis Mathenge Wanderi, and justice Abonyo Nyangay, upon receiving the Elizabeth Muli led Selection panel report earlier this week.
The National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi is expected to forward the names to the Justice and Legal Affairs Committee chaired by Kagumo MP Muturi Kigano which will in turn interview the candidates and table it's report to the Parliament.
The four were among 36 Kenyans who were interviewed for the position of four IEBC commissioners who resigned. The four include Roselyn Akombe, Consolata Nkatha Maina, Margaret Mwachanya and Paul Kurgat.
