Kitengela killings:Two brothers killed by mob laid to rest in Nyahururu

The two brothers who were among four men killed by a mob in Kitengela two weeks ago were buried in Nyahururu on Friday, August 20.

The bodies of 30 year-old Fredrick Mureithi Wanjiru and 25-year-old Victor Mwangi Wanjiru were at the Kenyatta University Mortuary where their last journey began as family, relatives and friends viewed the bodies.

There was a somber mood at the burial ceremony where hundreds of mourners had turned up to pay their last respects to the two brothers and could not hold back tears when Lucy Wanjiru, mother to the deceased read her tribute.

Wanjiru said, “Our last conversation mum unapendwa, we spoke at length about your birthday.. didn’t know it was your last moments…”

All the mourners who spoke led by the local legislator called on speedy investigations with the neighbors eulogising the brothers as young energetic men who were murdered without a reason

Ndaragwa MP Jeremiah Kioni said, “There’s no way four people can be killed in the same way and let it go like that…mambo ya mauaji…kisha unaachiliwa ni sheria ambayo haifai ata kidogo.”

Benson Ole Mungai, the prime suspect in the killings, is in custody as police pursue more suspects.
