Taita Taveta County Government had scaled down operations following a surge in coronavirus infections in the county.
The county is among those listed by the Ministry of Health as a hotspot for the Delta variant.
Speaking in Mwatate Governor Granton Samboja raised concerns over the increasing number of infections in the county saying it's worrying.
"Covid-19 cases are soaring in this county and I urge all residents to adhere to the laid regulations," he said.
Among measures undertaken include down scaling of activities in the county offices for the next 14 days
Taita Taveta County has so far registered 1,246 cases of coronavirus.
