Kenya has recorded 467 more Covid-19 cases from a sample of 5,217 tested in the last 24 hours, pushing the the number of confirmed cases to 203,680 while the positivity rate has dropped to 9% from Saturday's 15.6%.
According to the Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe, from the new cases, 454 were Kenyans and 13 foreigners while 242 were male and 225 female.
The youngest new patient was two months old and the oldest 90 years-old.
Total recoveries now stand at 189,131 as 195 new patients recovered from the disease. From the new recoveries 125 were from home based care and 70 in hospital.
Sadly, 15 more patients succumbed to the disease, raising the death toll to 3,946. The Health Ministry stated that they were all late death reports confirmed after the audit of facility records in May and July.
Currently, 1,475 patients are admitted to health facilities countrywide while 3,987 are in the home-based care programme.
From the hospitalised patients, 186 are under intensive care, 46 on ventilator support, 84 on supplemental oxygen and 56 under observation.
Another 445 patients were separately on supplemental oxygen, 399 of them in general wards and 46 in high dependency units.
