LSK President Nelson Havi arrested over assault allegations

Law Society of Kenya President Nelson Havi has been arrested over accusation of assaulting the society's suspended CEO Mercy Wambua.

According to a statement, LSK Vice President Carolyne Kamende said Havi was arrested on Tuesday at his office before being whisked away to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations offices.

Wambua alleged that Havi assaulted her at the LSK Gitanga Road offices during a meeting on Monday.

Havi dismissed the claims alleging that Ms. Wambua forced her way into the boardroom while a meeting was underway with an intention of recording the proceedings.

Ms. Wambua has since recorded as statement at Muthangari Police Station.
