LSK President Havi released on Ksh 10,000 cash bail

Law Society of Kenya President Nelson Havi has been freed on a Ksh 10,000 cash bail and is expected to be arraigned in court on Wednesday.

Havi had earlier been arrested at his office in Nairobi before being whisked away to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations offices where he was grilled for hours over an alleged assault of the society's CEO Mercy Wambua.

Speaking after his release, Havi alleged that his arrest was meant to intimidate him.

Ms Wambua had alleged that Havi assaulted her at the LSK Gitanga Road offices during a meeting on Monday.

Havi dismissed the claims alleging that Ms. Wambua had forced her way into the boardroom while a meeting was underway with an intention of recording the proceedings.

Ms. Wambua recorded a statement at Muthangari Police Station.
