Kenya has recorded 761 new Covid-19 cases from a sample size of 5,794 tested in the last 24 hours pushing the cumulative cases to 189,703 as the positivity rate stands at 13.1%.
From the new cases, 727 are Kenyans while 34 are foreigners and 381 are females while are 380 males.
The youngest is a six-month-old infant and the oldest is 96 years.
According to the Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe, total recoveries stand at 180,624 after 71 new patients recovered from the disease.
From the new recoveries, 45 were from the Home-Based Isolation and Care while 26 were discharged from various health facilities countrywide.
Unfortunately, 9 patients succumbed to the disease, pushing the cumulative fatalities to 3,732.
The CS stated, "A total of 1,067 patients are currently admitted in various health facilities countrywide, while 4,359 are under the Home Based Isolation and Care program. 123 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 38 of whom are on ventilatory support and 65 on supplemental oxygen.”
20 patients are under observation. Another 218 patients are separately on supplemental oxygen with 196 of them in general wards and 22 in High Dependency Units (HDU).
In the case of vaccines, so far, a total of 1,550,389 vaccines have been administered across the country with the total first doses being 1,028,669 and the total second doses being 521,720.
