Several lawyers and security experts have identified loopholes in how the late police officer Caroline Kangogo died.
Kangogo's lifeless body was found lying in her parents' bathroom in Elgeyo Marakwet on Friday, July 16.
According to a police report, Kangogo committed suicide by shooting herself from below the chin. However, some experts have dismissed that occurrence as per the loopholes they found in crime scene photos shared online.
At the scene, there was a cocked Ceska pistol, a magazine loaded with eight rounds of ammunition, one used cartridge and one bullet head.
Criminal advocate Cliff Ombetta claimed that Kangogo did not commit suicide, arguing that the blood spatter would not have been at the front.
He stated, "Gun placed in hand (sic) unlike where it would be because of the recoil. Shows she was brought there and left to bleed."
According to security consultant George Musamali, confirmation from pathologists and ballistic experts are the only ways Kangogo's death would be declared a suicide.
Experts do not believe Kangogo would have still held the gun with her hand after shooting herself.
It is uncommon for victims to kill themselves and still have guns in their arms, Musamali noted.
He probed, "The question we are asking is why she would shoot herself with hands in her pocket. The gun is on the right hand. If you shoot yourself on the chin, where does the empty cartridge lie?"
"If you shoot yourself in the head, something will happen to your body. Pathologists should be able to say if she died instantly or not. If she did not die instantly, then how long did she take before she died," Musamali added.
Reportedly, the deceased left a suicide note on a message saved on drafts on her phone and in the message she requested to be buried in her wedding dress and at her parents' home after a fallout with her husband.
Since last week when Kangogo reportedly killed two men; one a police officer at Nakuru police station and the other a security expert, there was a manhunt for her.
