Kenya has recorded 664 new Covid-19 cases from a sample size of 5,432 tested in the last 24 hours, pushing the cumulative cases to 197,409 and marking a positivity rate of 12.2%.
On Sunday, the Ministry of Health stated, “Total recoveries now stand at 185,808 of whom 148,161 are from the Home Based Care and Isolation program, while 37,647 are from various health facilities countrywide.”
In the last 24 hours, 201 new recoveries were recorded and from these, 143 are from the Home-Based Isolation and Care program while 58 are from various health facilities countrywide.
Unfortunately, the cumulative fatalities has been pushed to 3,865 as 16 new deaths were reported with one of them having occurred in the last 24 hours, while 15 are late deaths reported after conducting facility record audits in the month of July 2021.
Currently, 1,281 patients are admitted in various health facilities countrywide while 3,683 are under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program.
The Ministry of Health also revealed that from the
170 patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 35 are on ventilatory support, 84 on supplemental oxygen and 51 patients are under observation.
“Another 366 patients are separately on supplemental oxygen with 321 of them in general wards and 45 in High Dependency Units (HDU),” the Ministry said.
In terms of vaccination, so far 1,672,687 vaccines had been administered across the country.
Of these, total first doses are 1,047,355 while second doses are 625,332.
