Covid-19: Kenya records 431 cases, 8 more deaths

Kenya has recorded 431 new Covid-19 cases  from a sample size of 5,281 tested in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative cases to 193,189 with the current positivity rate at 8.2%.

Total recoveries stand at 182,921 as 595 new patients have recovered from the disease. 

From the new recoveries, 542 are from the Home-Based Isolation and Care while 53 are from various health facilities countrywide.

Sadly, the death toll has risen to 3,783 as 8 more patients are reported to have succumbed to the disease, with all of the late deaths reported after conducting facility record audits in the months of March and June 2021.

Currently, 1,224 patients are admitted in various health facilities countrywide while 4,358 are under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program.

The Ministry of Health added that from the 134 patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 35 are on ventilatory support, 70 on supplemental oxygen and 29 patients are under observation.

Meanwhile, another 284 patients are separately on supplemental oxygen with 262 of them in general wards and 22 in High Dependency Units (HDU).
