A man who sprinted to the dias as President Uhuru Kenyatta delivered his Madaraka Day speech Tuesday was intercepted by the presidential escort security.
His intentions were not immediately clear but the president interrupted his official speech to tell the security officers to let the man be.
“Leave him alone, let him do his thing,” Uhuru said.
Top dignitaries led by Burundian president Evariste Ndayishimiye, Deputy President William Ruto, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga attended the 58th Madaraka Day celebrations. They all made speeches.
Thousands were left outside the stadium as it was restricted to 3,000 people. This gave security forces a hard time controlling the crowd outside.
