StarTimes Media has secured broadcast rights to the UEFA Euro 2020.
The Pay Television Company will therefore broadcast the highly anticipated tournament across all media platforms including terrestrial, satellite and online streaming platform StarTimes ON.
In March 2020, UEFA Euro 2020 was postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak. It is now scheduled to take place from June 11 to July 11.
This year’s tournament will be the 16th bringing together 24 international men’s football power houses fighting to be declared champions of Europe.
The first Group A match will feature Turkey against Italy and will be aired on Friday 11th June on World Football Channel from 10pm.
There are six tournament groups and the top two teams in each will proceed to the round of 16 along with the four best third-placed finishers.
The division is as follows:
Group A: Turkey, Italy, Wales, Switzerland
Group B: Denmark, Finland, Belgium, Russia
Group C: Netherlands, Ukraine, Austria, North Macedonia
Group D: England, Croatia, Scotland, Czech Republic
Group E: Spain, Sweden, Poland, Slovakia
Group F: Hungary, Portugal, France, Germany
StarTimes Regional Marketing Director Aldrine Nsubuga said, “Euro 2020 is the number one football competition this year where it will feature some of the best teams in the world including both finalists of the 2018 World Cup, France and Croatia. UEFA Euro 2020 will be played across 12 host countries and cities with a total of 51 matches being played during the month as the tournament marks 60 years.
