Long-serving KTDA boss Peter Kanyago loses election

Farmers from Chinga Tea Factory in Nyeri have voted out Kenya Tea Development Agency ( KTDA) national chairman Peter Kanyago.

Kanyago who has been at the helm of the agency for close to three decades will be replaced by Mark Mwangi.

Mr Mwangi garnered 235 votes trouncing his only rival Josephine Wanjiru who got 27 votes.

Mr Kanyago didn't participate in the election, since the KTDA has maintained that the election is illegal.

This now means that Kanyago will cease being KTDA Chairman.
