Reigning champ Israel Adesanya and Marvin Vettori are expected to battle it out in a middleweight title fight at UFC 263 on June 12.
According to UFC president Dana White, contracts are being finalized to set the 185-pound title fight.
In April 2018, 31-year-old Adesayna defeated Vettori through split decision.
Although light heavyweight champ Jan Blachowicz defeated him UFC 259 on March 6 in Las Vegas, Adesayna's status as middleweight champion remained unaffected.
The 27-year-old Vettori clinched victory in his past five bouts, including a defeat of Kevin Holland on April 10.
Speaking to ESPN, White said that the Adesanya-Vettori winner will face former champion Robert Whittaker.
The UFC 263 location is yet to be announced.
