The family of Jack Ochieng, one of the four Kitengela friends who went missing, have said that the body found in Murang'a County on Thursday, April 29, believed to be Ochieng's is not his.
Ochieng's brother Cliff Ochieng told a local daily, "We came to Murang'a to identify him but the body that we saw is not my brother's. The body is still fresh and I can say for a fact that he is not my brother."
"His ear is not the same, his teeth, hairstyle are different and the clothes he was wearing are not his," he added.
According to Cliff, Ochieng's was in the tours and travel business until 2020 when he was laid off after the country was hit by the Covid-19 pandemic.
"When he stopped working, he engaged in a number of businesses including car hires where he was well connected. He would take vehicles from firms and hire them out especially because he had a wide network," he stated.
He added that his brother was loved by many and was always in the company of friends and that the family had not gotten any word on criminal activities that his brother had committed.
Cliff concluded, "I have never met any of the other friends that are said to have been in his company when he disappeared."
Jack Ochieng, Benjamin Imbai, Brian Odour and Elijah Obuong, went missing after having lunch at a popular club in Kitengela.
Allegedly, they left in a white Toyota Mark X only to be reported missing a few hours later.
According to Police, the bodies of three of the four missing friends were found as of Thursday, April 29.
