Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni and First Lady Janet Museveni on Saturday received their first dose of Covid-19 jab at State House in Kampala.
" I encourage all Ugandans who qualify for this vaccine to go to health facility and get it," President Museveni tweeted moments after being vaccinated.
Uganda's Health Minister Ruth Aceng hailed the first family for being vaccinated in the ongoing Covid-19 vaccine roll-out.
Ms Aceng was among the first recipient of the jab.
Uganda launched the first phase of the Covid-19 vaccination campaign on March 10th after receiving 964,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine .
