Former Tanzanian President John Pombe Magufuli will be laid to rest on March 26th, Tanzania Chief Government Spokesperson Dr Hassan Abbas has announced the changes.
During her first address to the nation, Tanzania President Samia Suluhu announced an elaborate programme that will culminate in the burial of Magufuli at his rural home in Chato, next week Friday.
Today Saturday, March 20th the body will be moved to St Peter's Catholic Church for brief prayers.
The public will thereafter get an opportunity to pay their last respect at Uhuru Gardens.
Magufuli's body will then be taken to Dar es Salaam on March 21 for public viewing.
According to the funeral programme residents of Dodoma, Zanzibar and Mwanza will pay their respects to the fallen leader on March 22nd, 23rd and 24th respectively.
The former president's family and residents of his rural home in Chato will pay their last respect on March 25th.
The State burial shall take place on 26th in Chato.
