Kagera Sugar woo Coach Francis Baraza to lift team

Kagera Sugar has approached Biashara United head coach Francis Baraza looking to lift the team which sits deep on the lower bottom of the league table.

"I can confirm that Kagera FC have approached me and talks are still ongoing," Baraza told a local daily.

It is barely two years since he landed in the Tanzanian Mainland Premier League and now he is on the brink of joining a second club.

Since he left Kenya for a greener pasture in Tanzania in November 2019, Baraza has been working with Biashara United, a small club based in a small lakeside town of Musoma.

Biashara United currently sits fourth in the Tanzanian Premier League table,11points behind leaders Young Africans(Yanga)

Therefore, he still has a realistic chance of winning the League this season.

Baraza, who lifted the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) title with Sony Sugar in 2006, might consider deal with Kagera Sugar.

Theodry Johns, a football pundit from Musoma said, "Kagera have money and good welfare for coaches."

"Biashara is only three years old in the Tanzanian premier league yet they are minting results under Baraza while Kagera who have been there are struggling. That’s why they need Baraza," the pundit added.

After missing Tuesday’s training, sources believe that the former Chemelil Sugar coach may have handled his last match over the weekend.
